In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share this little something with you all. Hope you all enjoy it! 🙂
Just A Fool
When you told me you loved me I was scared.
It was unexpected.
Yes, you were different from everyone else.
You made me smile and shine like no one else.
To say such words you really have to mean it–I haven’t had great experiences with such an emotion.
I’m sorry I didn’t say them to you right away. I was taken by surprised.
Maybe I was scared.
You were special. You were perfect. I didn’t want to lose that.
Deep inside, you were the one for me.
But when you said, “I love you,” the world began to turned in a different direction. I was going agains’t the current–I was lost.
You smiled and kissed my forehead. “Take your time,” you told me and I started to cry. What if it took forever for me to love you back?
So much doubt!
But when I looked into your eyes I realized that I didn’t have forever. Love is risk, something I was afraid of.
But something within me made me believed that it would be okay. So even though it took a while–not forever.
I’m glad I took that leap of faith.
Looking back now, I realized I was just a fool. Loving you was the best decision I had made in my 92 years. I know you won’t be able to read this letter but I know you don’t need to.
This was something you always knew.
Thanks for teaching me what love is, and I hope to see you soon because quite frankly I’m getting lonely without you.
I love you.
